SMEX has launched a new policy paper entitled: Reforming the Governance of the Cellular Sector in Lebanon, with the aim of promoting a transparent and sustainable management of the telecommunications sector.
The paper highlights the main structural challenges in managing the sector and proposes practical solutions, including the establishment of an independent board of directors, strengthening oversight, and adopting clear performance indicators.
The paper was developed in collaboration with experts and members of parliament, and was officially submitted to the Parliamentary Committee on Media and Telecommunications to initiate the legislative process.
