As part of the FactLab AFCN project, under the Arab Fact-Checkers Network and supported by the Google News Initiative, a training workshop was held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Tyre (Lebanon), titled:
Fact-Checking Fundamentals,” organized in collaboration between Tahaqqaq 360 platform and Silat Wassel.
The workshop was led by trainer Iman Barq, a fact-checking specialist, and targeted a group of journalists and individuals interested in verifying news and digital content.
The workshop included both theoretical and practical components, covering key areas such as:
– Fundamental concepts of fact-checking before and after publication.
– Work methodologies adopted by leading international fact-checking institutions.
– Post-publication verification processes and analysis of circulating content.
– Techniques and tools for verifying digital information.
– Essential tools journalists and fact-checkers need in their daily work.
This workshop is part of a series of activities aimed at strengthening journalists’ capacities to counter misinformation and enhance the quality of media content in the Arab world.
