The “Silat Wassel” platform has won the Qarib Journalism Award (2025 – 2026) for the report “We Are Not Anyone’s Property,” in the category of Best Report on Women’s Rights and Gender Issues.<\/p>\n
The report tells the story of “Viany de Marceau,” a migrant domestic worker from Cameroon living in Lebanon, shedding light on the suffering and restrictions imposed by the “Kafala” (sponsorship) system on her freedom and basic rights. It also follows her inspiring journey and her defiance of these restrictions as she transformed from a domestic worker into a fashion designer who crafts her own freedom.<\/p>\n
